I am the Commissioning Editor for pathology, anaesthesia and intensive care books and digital products at Cambridge University Press. I also manage our books list in haematology. If you would like to find out more about getting involved as an author, editor or reviewer, please do get in touch! Before being promoted to the role of Commissioning Editor, I worked as an Assistant Editor and subsequently Editor within the medical books team at CUP.

Medicine is the largest scientific publishing department at Cambridge University Press and publishes for medical practitioners around the world, from the trainee to the consultant. In September 2009, I was part of the team which launched the Cambridge Medicine blog and from 2010 to 2011 I was Chair of PressEnts Cambridge - a group that organises monthly social and fundraising events.

My first full time employment in publishing was at the Public Library of Science, where I worked as Publications Assistant for PLoS Medicine. As the leading open-access general medical journal, PLoS Medicine is an innovative and influential venue for research and comment on the major challenges to human health worldwide. It publishes highly selected papers of relevance to a global audience, which address the major biological, environmental, social and political determinants of health.

Whilst working at PLoS, I developed interests in publication ethics and open-access publishing. In addition to my role as Publications Assistant, I contributed to the PLoS blog and helped to build a new blog for PLoS Medicine, called Speaking of Medicine.
